![]() Many of us who live in cold winter climes have felt rather trapped during the cold winter months. I for one have felt cooped up in my house, longing for a way to relieve the doldrums of the short, brittle, cold winter days. So we welcome the beginning of springtime, when doors and windows can remain open during the day; when taking a day trip to a local park, or to go shopping, don’t seem quite as onerous. It is a reminder that this kind of suffering, like most suffering, comes to an end eventually, and we breathe a collective, deep sigh of relief when the cool breezes of late March tell us that even warmer and more comfortable, more beautiful days are on the visible horizon. A positive mindset is actually within reach! “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”
— Albert Einstein “I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” — Brene Brown “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” — Antoine De Saint-Exupery “Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.” — Brene Brown “The best way to have a good idea is to have lots of ideas” — Linus Pauling “Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.” — Brene Brown “To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act.” — Anatole France “A strong positive mental attitude will create more miracles than any wonder drug.” — Patricia Neal “Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we’re all in this together.” — Brene Brown “Things do not change. We change.” — Henry David Thoreau “Healthy striving is self-focused: “How can I improve?” Perfectionism is other-focused: “What will they think?” — Brene Brown |
